So I’ve been on an extended hiatus in this space, but I’m back on it!
Life has been fantastic with my six months old baby boy, and I can’t imagine life without him. I would never think a boy could be this adorable too! There has also been a massive change in my lifestyle, but I ain’t complainin’!
I would say that my delivery journey has been a rather smooth one. On 28 May, I woke up feeling hungry in the wee hours at 2 am, cooked some noodles for myself and for some reason I have an instinct that Nathan will decide to pop earlier than expected. When I woke up to pee, I noticed light bleeding and thought to myself, ”Uh oh, he may pop today.”
My husband barely woke up that morning too; he had planned to head to the gym initially, but when I told him what happened, the first thing he said to me was to call my gynae.
Since the scheduled c-section is only a few days away, my gynae decided to operate on the very day itself. After I hung up the call with the gynae, we both looked at each other, took a deep breath and went to get ready for the arrival of our son.
We arrived at Mount Alvernia early in the morning and proceeded straight to the operating theatre ward. Everything was calm and well until… I had to go through epidural. I swear that was the most painful injection I’ve ever had and all my mind could think of was where is my husband when I need him most? It turns out they weren’t allowed inside the operating theatre during the epidural. Nearly broke the nurse’s fingers because I grabbed so tight but everything happened so fast after that, and I felt no pain at all. 20 minutes later, I cried happy tears hearing my baby boy’s first loud cry.
Fast forward to today, Nathan has grown so fast and is a happy and chubby baby. Indeed he is a gift from God, and we are so blessed to have him by our side.
